hey everybody!!!! my name is Sophia Theodos. i’m SO SO SO SO excited about this opprotunity God’s given me to be on this trip! God called me on this trip in about march and i ended up going to Guatemala just because i was afraid i wouldnt be able to raise enough suupport for this one. this is my second mission trip. last summer, i went with AIM to Guatemala and it was probably THE best time in my life. God did such big things in my life and the lives of people there and the rest of my team. it truly was a life-changing experience.
well, i guess there are a few more things i should let you know about myself. i am addicted to chocolate and texting…but i could do without them both. im usually completely scatter-brained and alot of my friends like to make fun of me and call me a ditz, but i have been blessed with all A’s. im from georgia, about 20 miles south of atlanta, but originally from New Jersey. i go to a regular ole high school as a sophmore and live with just my mom. my mom is a 6 grade english teacher. im 15 and my sweet sixteen will be the day we get home from this trip =D. im baptist and go to Eagle’s Landing first baptist with THE BEST youth group and friends i could ever ask for! i listen to all Christian music and my favorite bands are Casting Crowns, jars of clay, starfield, third day, mercyme, misty edwards!!!!! umm i love to goof off and have fun but also love to have deep spiritual discussions and pour into people. i love to sleep, talk, sing, horse back ride, play guitar, and attempt just about any sport, oh yea, and eat!!!! i kinda like to pig out haha.
ok. so ill tell you guys a little bit about my heart. first of all, im head over heels in love with my Savior!!! He is my best friend and Beloved and i love to cling to Him. thats basically the basis for my ministry. i just long for my friends to be satisfied with Jesus’ love so they dont thirst for anything else. i love helping out my friends and encouraging them. i love to share what God’s taught me and share God’s wisdom. im especially passionate for teenage girls–usually the ones that are trying to fill up on love somewhere they won’t be able to get it, like a guy or drugs. i love missions! and have always wanted to be a missionary in a cannibol society or where people really have never heard of Jesus–to the ends of the earth!!! my plan is to do something in ministry. but im still waiting to hear from God for specifics. oh yea! i love love love Paul’s letters!!!! i CANNOT WAIT to meet all of you guys!!! God is gonna rock our world!!!!
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Romans 12:9-21
9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
11Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
13Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[a] Do not be conceited.
17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[b]says the Lord. 20On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[c] 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
